What better way to snuggle up to a Guinness World Records™ record than to have 42,690 people help the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim earn the new Largest gathering of people wearing fleece blankets title!

During the 6 April evening game, participants wrapped themselves in red fleece blankets for the necessary five minute record attempt period, as the host Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim contested the visiting Minnesota Twins.

While the scoreboard countdown clock ticked from five minutes to zero, participants around the stadium danced to celebrate the event.
Guinness World Records™ adjudicator Danny Girton Jr. was present to verify the record attempt, and to certify the accomplishment during the televised game.

Dubbed by event organisers as the 'Matsui Snuggie,' after professional baseball player Hideki Matsui (Japan), the fleece blankets used during the record attempt featured Matsui’s No. 55 as well as sponsor Konica Minolta’s logo.
